In some better alternate reality, I spent today at the park with Aaron, lounging on the curved stone statue by the water. We had our hoodies to keep us warm, and we read a book in the sunlight.
When it started getting cooler, we took a slow walk on the hill and back to the car, and then drove to the movie theater, watching the streetlights blink on one by one.

But instead, I went to work. Coming out of my apartment, I was carrying a foldover butter sandwich, my lunch in a Chipotle brown bag, and my backpack while trying to lock the door. My neighbor's boyfriend happened to be knocking on her door right as I was leaving...he gave me an amused look and said, "Off to school?" and I immediately felt like some tow-headed eleven-year-old, barefoot and on my way down the dusty road to the schoolhouse.

Then I got off sorta late from work, and the parking lot was empty, so I tried out my skateboard a little. I fell.
Here is a picture of my war wounds:

Then I came home and went to the mall with Elissa, where they did not have my size in the shoes I wanted anywhere. I resisted temptation though, to buy a very useless packet of things at Victoria's Secret. So that was good. And no, I would never call panties useless. It was some other stuff.
I have spent quite an unproductive weekend. I feel like, another two weeks of days like these, and Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman will storm into my apartment and find me fat and crazy on the couch with Chipotle burrito wrappers littering my body.

Things I Am Thankful for:
1. My newly unshaking car, thanks to a new suspension thingy-part.
2. That Aaron has such wierd taste and good temper.
3. That school has not started yet.

Things I Hate:
1. Self-important science people who are almost illiterate.
2. Writing admissions essays of any kind. Why should I string together a whole half a page of words when schools can't even use spell check and grammar check on their two-sentence prompt??
Besides. No one ever got a full picture of anyone's personality through these essays. They're 1 part truth, 2 parts inspiration, and 3 parts bragging. It's their nature.
3. Deadlines. DEADLINES!

Merde. Zut alors.

I have lots to tell!

Christmas presents:
digital camera
memory card 512mb
DVDs: Nightmare Before Christmas, Cinderella Man, War of the Worlds
ipod earphone jack splitter
pinstriped converse
and a little eggling I bought myself

And then, I went with Aaron to Soundwaves and we each got a blank deck skateboard, which we promptly decorated.
Also...I got a Christmas bonus from my job, with which I shall purchase some checkerboard Vans.

So...the break started off with a bang--I had lunch with my old roomate, Christina at Double Dave's in Houston, off of 59, and got immediately food poisoned from their buffet line. I have been meaning to write them an email for weeks, detailing my two days in throw-up hell, finally ending in dry chewing pepto bismol pills, but haven't got around to it. Actually, I first planned to drive up there and demand my $8 back, but we all know I did not have the balls for it. urg.

Hung out a lot with Aaron after picking him up at the airport on Christmas Eve morning, went and saw some movies, started skateboarding a little (I can balance and go, and _also_ do that cool little kick thing that makes it pop up so I can catch it in my hand...
haha but other than that, I am at a loss. I never was quite athletic. But I will keep at it.

In any case, I came back up to Austin today with a bottle of free wine from Aaron's work to age till he comes back.

Then I went over to Elissa's and shared a pizza with her while watching cheesy law and order-like shows, and discussing boys and future plans.

And then...
Ok, so maybe I didn't have as much to tell as I had hoped.

Coke is a miracle worker!!!
Battery acid leaked all over my mag lite, and it stopped working--I tried everything, even scraping at it for hours with a toothbrush. But Aaron suggested Coke a couple of weeks ago and tonight I finally got around to it, and it worked! Whee.
I have watched so many crappy movies this past week: (from most suck to least suck)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Robot Stories
Amityville Horror (the original...that's not to say the latest one wasn't just as bad.)
BUT I plan on seeing quite a number of (perhaps) good movies the coming week, when Aaron comes. Including King Kong (avec les dinosaurs!! yipee), Brokeback Mountain, and Fun with Dick and Jane.

Aaron is coming in a week. yipee yipee yipee.
I CAN'T WAIT!

Wanted: skateboard. laptop. I am an expensive girl.

I'm ok with my social ineptitude--as long as you're ok with it, then we're all ok.

I am so going to see this movie:

marieantoinette_023756/marieantoinette_trlr_01_fhywet_dl.mov

Pretty lame day today...finished the script, though, so that's good.

I have now gotten not only an "ouch" on one of my papers back from my thesis prof., but also a "yuck"--I wonder whether that translates to a C, an F, or just a plain, "You're retarded."
I think I'd rather the last, it's at least worth a laugh.

After picking that paper up, I angrily appropriated a donut from a box sitting open on a table outside the prof.'s office, which I knew perfectly well was _not_ meant for me.
